On Campus

      The distant sound of weights hitting together usually can't be heard from the second floor of Dixon Recreation Center, but on a quiet Sunday it rings throughout the hall. The few students who choose to come here on the weekends often have the place to themselves, but have to go without their coffee from the great Dixon Cafe above.      Dixon is known for having a helpful staff who are all throughout the building. Wether it's getting you a baseball to play with, checking you in, or cleaning your area when you forgot too, Dixon's employees have you covered. In case you were wondering,  I didn't have the opportunity to ask Andrew about his questionably large lotion container.     A student passes the flower garden in front of the Kerr Administration Building on his way to cross 14th street. The traffic isn't as bad because of it being the weekend, but he still has to wait a disproportionally long time for the light.

Bob Martin      Bob Martin is one of the worlds most renowned sports photographer. He has been taking amazing photos in the sports world for about the last 30 years. He's been at the last 15 Olympics, according to his website bobmartin.com, and even went to the most recent 2022 games in China. The event he is most known for is the Wimbledon, though. He has been going to the Wimbledon , which happens to be the oldest and most prestige among tennis tournaments,  since 1982. Bob Martin has worked under some of the biggest names in the magazine industry while taking pictures at these huge games and events. He bounced between Sports Illustrated, Time and Life magazine. It was more than his ability to capture a moment perfectly that helped him work with some of the greatest companies in his profession. In an interview about his work, Bob one said, " You've got to keep reinventing yourself or you'll become a dinosaur." This quote shows up in his work with how diverse his

Week 5 Enviromental Portrait

  Nathan Gunn is a blacksmith that lives in Blodgett, Oregon. He is the owner of a small business Burntwoods Forge that creates custom peices of metal for anything from railings to bottle openers. All of his products are made in the forge pictured above and by his hands. He discovered blacksmithing about 5 years ago and hasn't been able to think about anything else since. He spends most of his time working in his repurposed automotive shop listening to EDM and reggae music. He also enjoys taking care of the farm his family lives on and spending time with his wife Mary and his daughter Maggie.
